“Au coeur de la forêt” (“At the heart of the forest”) and “La petite maison bleue” (The little blue house”), two collages, between realism and abstraction, that employ a variety of techniques: pages from an old Latin dictionary, handmade collage papers (Gelli prints and home-made stamps), acrylic paint, ink, Posca marker, pencil, charcoal, Stabilo woody crayon, natural pigments gathered in nature, marble powder and acrylic medium #evakalienonline #poetryandplace #fibreartstaketwo #stabilo #posca
Here is a mixed media collage (30 x 30 cm) combining pencil, liner, watercolor, stamping, gelli prints, book page, colored papers with different structures. It was inspired by the book”Rosa Candida”, from the icelandic author Audur Ava Oladsdottir, my favorite author.
A short trip to the banks of Etang Colin, a wild pond not far from my studio, to explore mixed-media techniques (with pencil, collage of old handwritten letter, pigments, gouache, charcoal, acrylic paint and Indian ink) and create abstract landscapes.
Continuing my work on the theme of home and birds for future exhibitions.
Here’s a little sculpture to put down. Wood, hand-printed paper, decoupage, graphic composition, collage.
Usually, small bird houses are hung in trees. Let’s imagine a large one, placed on the ground at the edge of a pond. It could be home to curlis or other large birds.
A house… just to evoke its name is enough to adorn it with all kinds of meanings.
It is first of all a roof for those who do not have one, a refuge to isolate oneself from the world, a place to recharge one’s batteries, to relax, a cozy nest to curl up in, an anchor oneself, a place to live.
But it’s not just humans who are in favor. Birds, in particular (another theme close to my heart), appreciate the small houses in the trees we offer them.
All this combined has inspired these few works (monotype prints, 3D collages, mixed media)… with more to come.
